Paper Beads + Creativity = Awesomeness

Hello fellow crafters! It’s Megisha with today’s DIY. Now on my last post I showed you how to make paper beads. So today I am going to show you accessories that I made with the beads.

Beaded neckless

Need: Thin ribbon that is big enough to go around your neck, paper beads (or any other type, your choice), glue, (optional) sizers, lobster claw and 2 jump rings.

1. String your beads onto the ribbon.

2. Attach the lobster claw to the jump ring (you can use a pair of needle nose pliers but I didn’t find it necessary).

3. Tie your lobster hook and jump rings to the ribbon.

4. This step is totally optional you can add some glue to the knot to make it extra secure, let it dry completely.

5. Cut off the excess ribbon.

Now go show it off to your friends (just don’t let it go to your head). You can also use the beads to make bracelets.

Beaded bracelets

Take string, preferably stretchy cord.  Sting on as many beads as you need to go around your wrist.  Tie.  Then voila!

These are great to give to your little sisters, girl scout pen palls and/or friends. See you guys later!

Paper Beads

Hello!  Ok I have been obsessed with making paper beads! I wanted to share my obsession so I am going to teach you how to as well. What you need is…

Glue, paper, a straw, a Q-Tip, and a paper cutter.

You can also use scissors if you don’t have a paper cutter.

The straw is important, different sizes of the straws effects the size of the beads.

See the difference?

See the difference?

1. Cut a strip of paper in a long, thin triangle.

2. Repet until you use up the rest of the paper.

3. Add glue to the back of the paper

4. Take the triangle and tightly wrap it around the straw.

5.Let it dry for 30-35 minutes

6. With mine the beads slid off, it helps not waste straws. If that’s not the case with yours, then carefully cut the straw closely to the beads.

Now you can make ALL the beads you want! On my next post I will show you what I did with my beads.

Circle Skirt

I’m excited to show you what I’ve been working on.  Now just to let you know… this is my FIRST EVER piece of clothing I made FROM SCRATCH, the hems were kind of hard but I think it turned out great.  It’s simple and easy for a beginner.

I can’t wait for warmer weather to wear it… or maybe with some thick tights!

Here is the tutorial video of how to make the skirt.

DIY: Simple Circle Skirt {Back To School}

I hope you liked the video of how to make this. I am planing to make more of these skirts and adding some iron on transfers or sequin details. If there is something you would like to see me make, leave a comment and give me a suggestion.

The final product.

I know it’s been a while since my last post, but at least it hasn’t been a whole year!  I’m working on posting an inspiration video and a photo tutorial or video of my version of the inspiration.  Right now I’m working on a skirt.  But in the meantime…
